The pinwheel serves as the national symbol for child abuse prevention. It also represents the whimsical notion of childhood, and reminds us that every child deserves the chance at having a healthy and happy childhood, free of abuse and neglect.

This April, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, PCAD is partnering with schools and organizations throughout Delaware to plant pinwheel gardens in honor of all children in their communities. Pinwheel gardens will be popping up throughout the month - you may see them inside or outside, they may be large or small, or perhaps you will find a few in a vase on a desk or window sill. Each will be their very own masterpiece!
