Prevent Child Abuse Delaware (PCAD) is proud to announce the appointment of Tanisha Aiken-Woods to its Board of Directors. Her deep experience in education and unwavering commitment to child advocacy make her an invaluable addition to the organization, bringing PCAD’s board membership to fifteen (15).
Tanisha has spent over 25 years serving The School District of Philadelphia and holds two Master of Science degrees from Saint Joseph’s University—one in Literacy and Special Education, and another in Reading/English Second Language and Literacy Administration. She also earned a Principal and Administrative Certificate from Cabrini College (2008). Currently, Tanisha is the Owner and Director of Little Learner’s Literacy Academy, Inc. (L3 Academy) in Philadelphia and an Adjunct Professor (Graduate ESL) at Wilmington University.
Her professional development includes certificates from the Governor’s Institute (PA), Harvard Wide World Teaching for Understanding, and Edison Leadership. She is an active member of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, the International Reading Association, the Keystone Reading Association, and the National Education Association.
“I have had the honor of working closely with Tanisha on proactive child abuse prevention initiatives at the L3 Academy for over four years,” said PCAD Executive Director Claudine Wiant, JD. “Her respectful and compassionate approach with staff, children, and families is remarkable. Tanisha’s expertise in education, her dedication to early childhood literacy, and her commitment to diversity are just the beginning. She brings to PCAD a ‘roll up your sleeves and get to work’ attitude—and a full heart. We are thrilled to welcome her!”
