PCAD has a New Executive Director!
Claudine's experience with the Beau Biden Foundation creating child protection policies for schools and youth-serving organizations was instrumental in helping to develop the Adult Sexual Misconduct statute, an addendum to Erin’s Law included in the SAFE Package signed into law by Governor Carney last year. This bill further enhanced Erin's Law by requiring schools to develop policies to prevent boundary-crossing behaviors.
After twenty years of service with the New Castle County police, Claudine retired as a sergeant. During her tenure, she served as a family services unit detective, crime prevention supervisor, media coordinator, and mediator and crisis negotiator. After retiring from law enforcement in 2012, Claudine became a Title IX Civil Rights Investigator and Clery Compliance Coordinator in higher education.
In 2014, Claudine earned her Master of Science in Administration of Justice and served as a volunteer for BBF. In 2019, Claudine graduated from Delaware Law School with her Juris Doctor. Claudine also volunteers as a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Delaware. She is the mother of three sons and resides in Chester County, Pennsylvania with her husband Michael.
PCAD Board Chair Brooke Balan said “PCAD is excited to have a new leader. Claudine has worked within the prevention space for 30 years, including 20 years with the New Castle County Police and most recently serving as the Director of Programs at the Beau Biden Foundation. With her experience, excitement, and passion for prevention, we truly believe Claudine will be a perfect fit for PCAD.”
Program Manager Kellie Turner said "We are excited to welcome Claudine to the team! Her experience and commitment to supporting families and keeping children safe is evident in all that she does. As PCAD continues to lead the way in child abuse prevention, Claudine’s experience, passion, leadership skills, and commitment to partnerships will help the organization continue to grow and positively impact Delaware’s families."
Partners from community agencies are invited to meet Claudine at a meet and greet hosted by PCAD’s Board on September 14, 2023 at 4 pm in the Community Services Building. Light refreshments will be served. Please rsvp here: https://forms.gle/2duwA2gF228biYgw8
